Last weekend, a friend of mine (Mary Lou) asked me to meet her in Washington, D.C. Of course, I jumped at the opportunity! It was the first gorgeous day this year for us East Coasters. No jacket, sun on our skin, flowers in bloom, the mixture of aromas in the air-food cart cuisines, perfume, spring blooms. It was the perfect day! AND it also happened fall during the National Cherry Blossom Festival. People from all walks of life traveled to Washington, D.C. just to see the gorgeous watercolor painting that is the Tidal Basin in Spring time. There were vendors set up selling Japanese inspired knick-knacks and apparel, streets shut down. Paper umbrellas everywhere. It was a photographers dream! Whether you were professional photographer or an iPhone photographer, EVERYONE was taking photos! And just like every other person with a version of a camera, I seized the moment! Mary Lou became my model, along with all the unknowing subjects I happened to snap a photo of throughout the day.
Sometimes, it's a nice to take a breath, have an adventure and capture some personal photos.
